New adjustable alternator voltage regulator that fits 1970 and later Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth vehicles. Designed in house at Cramer Power Electronics LLC and soldered together at a contract manufacturer certified to make aerospace and medical electronics, right here in the USA.  Here are some of the highlights of this design:

  • Even though it's adjustable, we use 1% tolerance resistors in the circuit used to measure alternator voltage. Our competition often uses 5% tolerance - on regulators that aren't adjustable.
  • High current MOSFET output transistor for high current alternator upgrades. You don't have to worry about the field coil drawing more than this regulator can take!.
  • Like the original Chrysler design, this regulator adjusts the charging voltage based on an internal temperature sensor to deliver higher voltage in freezing weather and taper off as it warms up.

The temperature correction on this regulator is a bit aggressive to match battery manufacturers' recommended charging voltages. If you are relocating the battery to the trunk, we recommend also mounting the regulator in the truck so it can track with the battery temperature more accurately.

Use a screwdriver to adjust the regulator with the white adjustment dial at operating temperature - the adjustment is more sensitive at the top of the temperature range. Counterclockwise will decrease the voltage while clockwise will increase it.

Country of origin notes:

  • Circuit board made in USA
  • Connector 3D printed in USA
  • Electrical component (transistors, diodes, etc) manufacture is unknown, but probably imported.
  • Epoxy resin is made in USA.
  • All assembly beyond the individual component level is done in the USA.
